Molly had 4 tumbles in side of one week!! The first was a slip, and a face plant right on the tile floor in the hall, ending up with a bloody fat upper lip. :( Then a couple of days later she took a tumble off the bottom step on our back steps, and hit her head on the concrete. Then she took a tumble on Saturday down 2 stairs on her way up for a bath, after she turned on a dime to look at me. Luckily I was right there, and broke her fall. Then yesterday she was playing on our bed, and rolled off onto the floor.
Molly is just fine, but my nerves are not!! I am on pins, and needles anytime she is on the stairs, or on the bed now. I guess all in the life of a toddler?? Mommy doesn't like it. :(Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-60371133268852249542008-04-01T20:06:00.000-07:002008-04-01T20:17:20.428-07:00Hola!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/R_L6OLsqQgI/AAAAAAAAAM0/fDnDv8r9o-I/s400/P1100817.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184481242622083586" />
Well it has been a while since I posted an update on Molly. She is now nearly 22 months old. She is about 34" high, and around 31 lbs. She is crazy active. She just got over a case of roseola. She was not herself. She is usually no worse for wear when she is sick, but she was not well. Poor thing.

We have been attending BC StrongStart at one of the local elementary schools. It is a paid program by the BC government so it is free to go. They have a range of activities for all ages, and parents can meet other parents. They have free play time, circle time, snack time, craft time, more free time, and then a story. On Monday's and Wednesdays they have gym time. Which basically is a free for all in the gym. The kids have a blast running around chasing balls, and each other.
On Tuesdays they have library time. Molly is enjoying herself, and learning lots of things.

As well as a daily increasing vocabulary, along with knowing her abc's , and counting to ten... she is also speaking some Spanish words. She is starting to count in Spanish, and she says hola a bunch. Not only does she know the numbers in Spanish, she knows the order as well. Even if she is my child she is a pretty smart cookie, though she is no where near ready to potty train. I will have a genius in diapers. :( I guess we can't have it all. :)

She amazes me everyday, and I look forward to each to see what she does next. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-81535558871676714162008-02-05T20:32:00.000-08:002008-02-05T20:35:11.044-08:00All she needs is a horse, and she is readyGreg got Molly a cowboy hat when he was in Texas recently for work. I came across a dvd yesterday called, "Classical Baby, The Dance Show". It wasn't very much so I picked it up. It is presented by HBO Entertainment. I think that I saw a similar show on HBO when we were in Alabama last November. I thought the animation art was really great, as well as a various mix of classical music greats.

Apparently, there are two more dvds, and I have ordered them as well...Classical Baby, The Art Show, and Classical Baby, The Music Show." I am looking forward to getting these. Molly really seems to like them. They are quite soothing for parents to have on in the background, and not have various mix of cartoon shows playing. I get really tired of the repetition of most of Molly's programs, and heaven knows I know way to many of the episodes by heart.

I popped this dvd in this morning, and I enjoyed a cup of Irish creme coffee, while classical music played in the background, and Molly watched, and listened while playing with her puzzles. It was sure a lot more peaceful than, "Can you help Dora, and boots find the cookie?" or "Say, Rescue Pack!" I prefer the programs on PBS to Treehouse most of the time, but I can't complain too much about Treehouse, it has some really great programming. I still stand firmly by the Baby Einstein Videos, and The Little Einsteins programs. Molly absolutely loves them, and I know she has learned so much from them.

I really like the options, and resources that parents have today for their babies, toddlers, and children. It is sure a lot different than when I was a child.

Hopefully with all the resources, education, and technology that children have today, we can raise happy, healthy ,well-rounded,and educated children.

They are the key to our future.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-56043347751543483362008-01-18T10:27:00.000-08:002008-01-18T10:31:05.632-08:00Vocabulary guru....Molly's vocabulary is growing daily. She uses "oh no!", "why?", "wow", "oh, wow.", and "wee" quite frequently these days. She can recognize apples, and horses by a picture, or object. She said tractor yesterday after I showed her the tractor snowplow outside our window. It is truly amazing to watch them grow.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-49063448345381050112008-01-10T16:24:00.000-08:002008-01-10T16:40:08.758-08:00"Monkey = Mom-eee"Molly's vocabulary is really coming along. She is now identifying pictures of objects, and saying their proper name, or the Molly equivalent. :)

She has this wonderful set of alphabooks by Baby Einstein that is currently one of her very favorite things to play with.

The set of board books has one book per letter of the alphabet, and has three pictures with the name of the image for each letter of the alphabet. I was showing her the M book, and there was a picture of a monkey, and Molly promptly said with proud enthusiasm "mom-eee". I told her no Molly, that is a monkey, and she was adamant that it was a "mom-eee".

There is really no arguing with a very strong willed toddler! :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-4225167177282134162007-12-03T09:38:00.000-08:002007-12-21T13:26:03.227-08:00Molly world traveler...

Molly is nearly 18 months old now, and she has changed so much since the last time I posted about her.
She and I just spent two weeks in Alabama with my family. She is quite the world traveler after our journey. She experienced flight cancellations, plane delays, sleeping in airports, massive lineups, sleeping on planes, and even lost luggage!! She even has her own passport. I think she faired quite well for a child her age. I am very proud of her.

She had lots of good Southern food, swung on a porch swing, rocked in a rocking chair, and even played an antique piano....oh, and I nearly forgot, she learned to play football if there is anyone from the SEC reading this that wants to draft her. :)

She is starting to learn more words too, and even tries to sing. She is climbing on couches, and stairs, and is quite the mimic. She loves to just go. I think she would walk from here to Alabama if I let her.

She is over 25 lbs now, and has nearly 12 teeth. She is starting her terrible twos as well... She has the cutest personality, and is a sweetie...though she has her evil moments. We are so amazed by her everyday.

She took her first airplane trip a little over two weeks ago to Vancouver. We had to go get her a passport for our big trip to Alabama next month. She is going to be quite the world traveler before she is 2! I didn't even get on an airplane until I was in my 20's! It will be an interesting trip to say the least. She will get to spend American Thanksgiving with our family in Alabama. She is going to be so spoiled when we get back.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/RwfQEATSsBI/AAAAAAAAAG8/3o3nBlyqLm4/s400/n549365894_353818_2820.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5118288268748828690" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/RwfQSQTSsCI/AAAAAAAAAHE/whUH4xJ3s7w/s400/n549365894_355685_4866.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5118288513561964578" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-89663478323238279612007-08-27T10:01:00.000-07:002007-08-27T10:15:24.489-07:00Busy being a toddler...Molly is 14 1/2 months now. She is growing so fast, and loving being more independent. I am totally convinced that she will be a track star or a swimmer. She has the strongest little legs, and she uses them constantly. I was bathing her last night, and she kicked her legs as fast as she could, making a huge splashing mess! She is discovering new things everyday. She is starting to dance a little bit to music, and she will spin around, and walk in circle trying to make herself dizzy. She has also had some mini tantrums. She is expressing her feelings much more now, and she lets you know in a heartbeat when she is unhappy.
I had her in splash pool the other week, and she just loved it!
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/RtMFc1z3kQI/AAAAAAAAAGE/LDKTAmacCiA/s400/P1070925.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103428795780010242" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/RtMGi1z3kRI/AAAAAAAAAGM/qxFmSMMeMO4/s400/P1070870.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103429998370853138" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-76893833902864908472007-08-11T12:17:00.000-07:002007-08-11T12:19:40.691-07:00Molly is 14 Months old today!!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/Rr4LpAeTKbI/AAAAAAAAAF8/FIMLiSOT_ek/s400/P1070810.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5097524627359607218" />

Updates soon I promise! :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-10932930988138696392007-07-04T17:26:00.001-07:002007-07-04T17:26:30.638-07:00Molly's fancy footwork part 2

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-83930844135561901972007-06-29T21:11:00.001-07:002007-06-29T21:11:26.807-07:00Molly with her walker

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-46048595639549749482007-06-25T12:27:00.000-07:002007-06-25T12:36:02.743-07:00Molly has dots...Well, Molly hasn't felt well the last few days. She has had some side effects from her MMR immunization, and has had fever, along with what is a very weak, and mild case of non-infectious measles. She has little red dots, here, and there. It wasn't totally unexpected, as they told us that it could happen. She is over the fever now, and just has dots. She is feeling a bit better, though she is teething as well on top of things, so still not perfect. I have made a dr's appt. for her because she has had a cough, and some congestion for the past month. When I took her in two weeks ago, the dr. wanted me to bring her back in if she wasn't over it in 1-2 more weeks. I think Molly actually has some allergies. She seems to keep a runny nose most of the time, and recently she has been rubbing her nose, and she sometimes has red eyes. So it might be dust?? Anyhow, we will see what the dr. says.

Anyhow, she is still not walking completely, she doesn't seem to have the confidence in the house like she had in the park that day. It is just easier to crawl, but we encourage her everyday. She is growing like crazy, and her personality is the cutest. She is a headstrong little girl, and very tenacious. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-83347868614835823342007-06-19T08:05:00.000-07:002007-06-19T08:17:30.922-07:00Molly updates....Well, Molly has now officially been a year old for one week. She hasn't done a whole lot of walking since the big day last week. She still does onesies, and twosies, but nothing big. she is getting more confident, so I suspect she will be running marathons soon. :)

Molly has had a few culinary experiences as of late, and it is amazing she is even my child as I was such a picky eater, and still am to a degree.

Greg has her eating raw onion, raw tomato, and even raw bell pepper. She likes pickled beets, and she has pretty much had a salad minus the lettuce, and dressing. :)

She had her first taste of some serious sugar with her birthday cake last week, and last night she had her first taste of ice cream. She really liked the ice cream. We met Greg's former boss/CEO and his wife for dinner last night. They are traveling around Canada, and were passing through our area. When Molly was 5 months old, Bill said he wanted to be the first one to give her ice cream. He had given all his grandkids their first, and it was such a delightful experience for him. So, it was perfect timing. I told him that we purposefully didn't have ice cream at her party so that he could be the first one to give her ice cream. He was delighted!

We forgot our camera, but they had theirs, and said they would send us the pictures.

Molly is really developing the cutest personality. She is so funny, and she has the cutest expressions. Since she was really small, we have been playing a game with her where we take our finger, and beep her nose. She loves this, and will be highly dissapointed to find out the nose doesn't really make a beeping sound. :)
What is so special about it now, is that she will actually lean into your finger to beep her nose. So if you are moving your finger as to beep her nose, she will push her nose closer to touch your finger. It is so darn CUTE!!

Anyhow that is the latest. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-37018069560113737142007-06-13T02:54:00.001-07:002007-06-13T02:58:30.136-07:00Molly Walks for the first time!!!!

We went to the park on Tuesday, and Molly decides she is going to show us all a new trick!! :) It was so exciting seeing her take those major steps for the first time. She had been taking onesies, and twosies for a few days....it will be a full scale run here before we know it!!!! :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-91962489213604357622007-06-12T08:11:00.000-07:002007-06-12T08:26:34.334-07:00Dora & Diego!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Molly has begun to recognize things she has seen on TV in her everyday world. More so the last few days it has been Dora the Explorer ,and her cousin Diego. Every time she sees either one on TV, or elsewhere she squeals with happiness. It isn't like she sees them on TV that often, maybe for short periods once a day or every other day.

It started the other day when I turned on the TV, and Diego was on. She absolutely went bananas, and squealed with happiness. Then I was in Walmart with her on Friday, and we were in the toy section. We passed something that had Dora on the box. She squealed with happiness once again.

She got a Dora ball for her birthday, and a Dora book as well. Those were the only birthday gifts that she actually responded too...she just squealed with happiness.

I read to her last night from the Dora book, and had laid it on her rocking chair in her room. This morning when I went to get her up to change her, she saw the book, and immediately wanted it. She cried, and wouldn't let me change her until I gave her the book to look at. Oh, boy....Houston we could have a problem! :)

I guess we will have to hide the books, and things with Dora & Diego on them when there are diapers to be changed, baths to be had, or bed time.

I am so glad she hasn't be exposed to Barney, or Teletubbies!!!! :)

Things could be worse, at least she will learn bits of Spanish. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-75868209966680609032007-06-10T22:33:00.000-07:002007-06-10T22:41:56.537-07:00Happy 1st Birthday Molly!!!!!! :)<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_acgL6-sj4e0/RmzgnARdnAI/AAAAAAAAAE0/LgMtOLPRiZc/s400/mollycake.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5074677840832470018" />
It is hard to believe at this moment 1 year ago, I was lying in a hospital bed with an epidural in my back
awaiting for this little bundle of sweetness to emerge! Officially as of 3:04pm on June 11th, Molly came into our world.
We had Molly's party today, and it was great time. She had a blast. I had only wished she was able to run, and play with other kids. She is getting there though.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-6747883566559930672007-06-03T15:19:00.000-07:002007-06-03T15:21:29.375-07:00First Steps!!!Molly took her first steps today. It was pretty exciting. It is hard to believe that in one week she will be 1 year old. I started her on the transition to whole milk today. Our baby is soon going to be a toddler. Where did the time go?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-18029314882797383252007-05-29T11:05:00.000-07:002007-05-29T11:06:59.540-07:00Molly has a cold me thinks...She has had a cough for the last few days, now she has a runny nose. She doesn't seem any worse for wear though. If it weren't for those two things you wouldn't even know she was sick at all. I hope we don't get it this time...fat chance, eh? :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31969202.post-6441671192118461972007-05-27T22:41:00.000-07:002007-05-27T22:51:06.537-07:00Through the night...Molly has slept through the night all this week, with the exception of one night I accidentally woke her up. She is sleeping from around 8 pm until 6-7 a.m. or later. I can't believe it!

Molly finally graduated to a bigger car seat today, and is forward facing now. She looks so grown in her new car seat. She was happy, and excited! In less than two weeks our baby will 1 year old! It is so hard to believe that the year has gone by so quickly.

We are planning a birthday party for her at one of the Provincial Parks here in Quesnel. It should be really nice. We are going to make her a cupcake cake. I am not sure what the design will be, but I am sure it will be great.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
